For most independent schools - including REDS - the full cost of each child’s education exceeds actual tuition income. This “tuition gap” is bridged by fundraising campaigns and events - namely the Annual Fund and the Spring Auction.
In addition to the Annual Fund and the Spring Auction, there are a variety of more targeted fundraising efforts that occur every year and myriad opportunities to support REDS in other ways.
Fundraising Events
Annual Fund:
The Annual Fund campaign is launched each fall with a focus on broad community participation at a variety of giving levels. Donations made to the Annual Fund touch all aspects of a child’s experience at REDS and every gift makes a difference.
Spring Auction:
The REDS Auction is a joyful fundraising event held annually in the spring. This event brings members of the extended REDS together to celebrate our community. The diverse auction offering, which includes unique community activities, casa artwork, and timeless REDS keepsakes raises critical funds.
Tulip Wall Graduation Pledges
In 2023, the Tulip Wall was introduced to recognize families who elect to make a multi-year financial commitment to REDS following graduation. The Tulip Wall celebrates the lasting impact REDS has on children and families.
Scholarship and Professional Development Funds
The Laurie Boone Hogan (LBH) Fund for Financial Aid and Professional Development:
Established in honor of Laurie Boone Hogan, REDS’ Head of School from 1999 to 2012, the LBH Fund underwrites immersive learning opportunities for faculty and financial aid grants for families. Faculty take transformative “mini sabbaticals” that inspire colleagues and enrich the experiences of REDS students and families more broadly. The LBH fund also supports families needing tuition assistance.
Capital Campaigns
Currently, there are no active capital campaigns. Periodically, REDS Board of Trustees will launch a capital campaign designed to fundraise for a specific objective. Most recently, a capital campaign was launched to build an endowment for REDS and fortify its future.
